J. C. Madigan, Inc. is one of New England's premier truck equipment distributors. But like most businesses, things did not start out that way. J.C. Madigan's beginnings were small and humble, and the hard work of company owner Jack Madigan during those early days forged the foundation for the company's future growth and expansion.

Jack Madigan started J. C. Madigan, Inc in 1955 selling lime in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. after a few years, he began to sell lime and fertilizer spreaders throughout New England and the Canadian Maritimes. As the lime business continued to grow, Jack began to concentrate on just selling lime and the spreaders themselves. Many of Jack's customers who purchased lime spreading equipment also had needs for sand and salt spreaders and Jack quickly entered into that business to supply those needs. as this loyal customer base recognized the quality of service and equipment being supplied by Madigan, they began to look to the company to address more of their truck equipment needs, including platforms, utility bodies, and dump bodies.

Today, J. C. Madigan, Inc. is a family affair with Jack's sons John (1980) and Tim (1992) joining their father in this extremely fast paced business. John manages both the parts and service departments,  while Tim manages the sales department.  Madigan currently operates out of three separate locations and employs over 50 people at those locations.

In addition to their location on route 2A in Harvard, MA, Madigan also operates a retail store in Ayer, MA and recently opened a new installation facility in nearby Ashby, MA. Besides serving central Massachusetts with a full line of truck equipment products, the company also serves the New England region with both GMC and Chevrolet bailment Pools.

Despite all of this, Jack has never forgotten his roots. Today, Madigan continues in the lime business with a fleet of 18-wheelers delivering product for industrial use all over the northeast. The foundation forged by Jack remains stronger than ever.
